Competition Rules

Competitions shall be held during the season as indicated in the syllabus. In each of monochrome prints, colour prints and transparencies there shall be two classes:
i. Class A: Advanced
ii. Class B: Beginners
In all print classes the prints may be either trade or home processed. They should be mounted by the author. Maximum mount size 50 x 40 cms.
 
2 The winner of the season's Class B Competitions may, if they so wish, remain in Class B for subsequent seasons. Should a Member win Class B twice they shall automatically enter Class A for subsequent seasons. A Member will not be eligible to enter Class B if they have had previous experience of competition photography, and in the opinion of the Committee their work is of an advanced standard. A member may only enter one class in either monochrome or colour prints, or transparencies, in one season.
 
3 Each member may submit up to three monochrome prints, three colour prints, three transparencies as appropriate for each competition. All entries should be handed to the Competition Secretary not less than one week before the competition.
 
4 Prints must be mounted and marked with the Member's name. The title, or 'No Title', and the class for which it is entered should be written on the back.
 
5 Slides must be spotted in the bottom left hand comer when viewed in the hand. Slides must be titled, or 'No Title' written on, and should bear the name of the author.
 
6 Judges will award marks out of twenty. The two highest marks will be taken to be added towards a cumulative score each season. The one scoring lowest of any entry of three may be submitted once more.
