Win a digital camera!

Digital Photography Competition for schools

Photo theme: "My Hertford" / Closing date: 30th September 2011

As part of our our 60th anniversary celebrations we're running a photo competition for school-aged children and teenagers living in or near Hertford. We want digital photos – which can come from your camera or from your camera-phone – on the theme of "My Hertford". Interpret this theme in any way you like. Be creative!

There are two sections: one for Year Groups 4 to 6, the other for Year Groups 7 to 13. There will be a prize* of a digital camera in each section! And the winning images will be displayed at our "Snapshots in Time" exhibition at Hertford Museum, as well as at our Annual Exhibition in the Mill Bridge Rooms.

ENTRY RULES : PLEASE READ THEM !

For our younger entrants: if you don't understand these rules please ask your parents or teacher to explain.

  1. The competition is open to school aged children and teenagers based in and around the Hertford area. The subject matter is 'My Hertford'.
  2. The competition will be judged in two sections:
    Year Groups 4-6  / 1st prize: £60 digital camera
    Year Groups 7-13 / 1st prize: £100 digital camera
[Year group age as of September 2011]

  6. All entries into the competition must be suitable for display at Hertford Museum or at Hertford & District Camera Club's annual exhibition and therefore appropriate for a general audience. The organiser reserves the right to reject any photograph(s) on the grounds of illegality, infringement of any third party rights, the subject matter being offensive or contrary to standards of taste and decency, or on any other ground that it may from time to time consider appropriate.
  7. The photographic images must be taken by the person entering the competition (no parents allowed!), though parents may help you submit them.
  8. The copyright of the photograph will remain with the author.
  9. Images whose main subject features a person who is easily identifiable, will be judged, but will only be displayed if appropriate permission is obtained. The organiser will contact you if this is required.
  10. All images will be destroyed after December 2011, unless an agreement with the author has been obtained.
  11. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  12. The closing date for submission is Friday 30th September 2011.
