EAF exhibition 2001
Hertford and District Camera Club was affilated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) through the East Anglian Federation (EAF), which represents around 120 clubs in the region. Each year the EAF mounts an exhibition of prints and slides from its member clubs, and Hertford was proud to host the EAF Exhibition in 2001, our 50th anniversary year (the last time the exhibition was here was in 1973).
The Exhibition was held in the Shire Hall, Hertford, from 12 to 19 May, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm most days. There were 76 monochrome prints on display (selected from 492 submitted by 162 members from 44 clubs), and 123 colour prints (selected from 806 submitted by 256 members from 47 clubs). 210 colour slides were accepted (out of 999 submitted by 206 members from 50 clubs).
The Exbibition was formally opened on 12th May by Councillor Richard Ovenden, Mayor of Hertford, after which the selected slides were projected in the Courtroom. For the remainder of the exhibition the slides were shown in a continuous display on a computer monitor. We counted nearly 700 visitors.
